Organic Compressed Coconut Grow Brick by Keep Nature

We do a bit of gardening during the warm months and for two years we have been able to babysit one of our plants throughout the Winter by bringing it inside. It is a pixie grapes plants, and it has become my husband’s obsession. Each year he changes its pot to a bigger one to give it room. This year he wanted to try compressed coconut growing soil because he learned the benefits of it. He was especially interested in the water holding capacity as he is always worried if the pixie plant needs water. He nursed the plant back from certain death once and he does not want it to happen again. He mixed one part of the compressed coconut into two parts of the regular organic soil he uses; He feels that is the perfect consistency the plant needs right now but plans it to be a two/two once its time to take care of for the Winter.

This compressed coconut soil brick is organic, and can be use for indoor or outdoor plants. It will hold about 8 times its volume in water. It is made out of fibers from the outer coconut shells. The compressed coconut also allows for good drainage without removing all of the water from its soil. It holds minerals, and the plants food instead of removing it with the water. It is also a good way to nature seeds before planting but we have not tried it as it is too late in our season to try it. This brick is compact, easy to store and won’t take space like a bag. Also that it helps control deceases, reduces odor, and bugs. It has no pesticides which is very important since the plant is inside the house half of the year. This compressed coconut is also reusable. So far, it is working as we expected.
