Cutting Fruits and Vegetables Playset by Kitchen Fun

We have a four year old wannabe Master Chef who loves his play food. He has a wooden version that is similar to this set that was gifted to him for his birthday. While that version looks really good, we had to put it away because when our neighbor comes to play she insist in using the wooden fruits and vegetables as projectiles which can hit extremely hard. We decided to buy the plastic version because playing with the toy kitchen seems to be the go to activity of any child that visits us.

This set came with eight foods: eggplant, corn husk, boiled egg, mushroom, tomato, carrot, potato and cabbage. It also has a play chef knife and a handing cutting board. It is made out of hard plastic, and each food has Velcro that keeps it together before being cut into two pieces. The inside of each of the foods shows a realistic look, like the egg has the yolk shape and color, and the tomato has seeds painted; However, the sizing is off but it is the same with the wooden set as well and many other of the toy food in our play kitchen. The realistic details inside the food has been prompted our son’s curiosity who now wants to see how food looks inside before and after its cooked.

Overall, it is a great quality play set. Our son loves it because once he cuts the food it fits inside his toy pots, and he can cook it. We have been pretend eating plenty of soups since we gave him his new set. It has also come in handy when mom is cooking as he will sit at his table and pretend his meal preparation without wanting to go into the kitchen to help which makes mom very nervous. We would definitely recommend this play set.
