Vacation Plant Watering Spikes, Set of 4, by UpMagiC

We have been doing some deck gardening for tomatoes and berries because we have a lot of bunnies and mischievous squirrels downstairs that would eat everything immediately. Because it is on a second floor, sometimes turning the hose off and on can be an inconvenience. Our tomato plants always seemed thirsty but between work and a very active toddler we have no time to babysit the plants. We decided to search for other options and found several plant watering spikes but all seemed to hold little amounts of water. When we came across these vacation plant watering spikes we knew we had to try them because no one goes on a 2 hour vacation; We knew it should hold more water than the ones we kept finding at the store.

These watering spikes come in a set of 4. The probes are ceramic, while the copper looking caps are actually made out of plastic. It will not work with regular water bottles but it did with soda pop bottles. Based on our experience with the plants we were able to use an appropriate size for each of the plants as we know some need more water than the others. The process is super easy: fine the right bottle/size, clean it, fill it with water, attach it to the cap of the spike and insert it on the soil of the plant. We still water our plants but now we do not have to feel guilty about the plants being too thirsty while we do our daily routines. The spikes do not have any visible holes, and water won’t start dripping right out of it as the porcelain allows the plants to adsorb the water as needed and it will kind of sweat throughout it. We have no complaints about these spikes other than the plastic parts had chipped right in the box; That issue does not affect the performance of the spikes so we are fine with it.
