Watercolor Pencils, Set of 48, by Art Lost

This is my first set of watercolor pencils, and I’m quite impressed by it. The first thing I did when I got them was pick three random colors, a scrap of paper and blend the colors with water. It was super easy to create a blend of the colors, and pretty neat. But since it is a new process for me, I’m still not brave enough to do the blending or water coloring on an actual design but I’m working my courage to do so. This set has forty-eight watercolor pencils and a sharpener that is conveniently located inside the bottom of the box. I have been using the pencils dry because as I mentioned I’m afraid of ruining whatever I’m working with. The dry colors are pretty vibrant and rich; The variety of colors and shades is very nice. Some pressure is required to get the light colors to show the best but nothing excessive that would damage paper. I have not had any issues with smearing the painted areas while dry coloring.

Altogether, I really like this watercolor pencils as it opens the doors to a new art media for me. The color selection is kind of easy with this set as the colors and its shades are like a gradient; It is a very complete set of colors. I’m working up my courage to use the pencils in a wet setting that has a meaning and that it is not just a scrap of paper because the colors blend nicely and without much effort. I have no complaint about this set at all, since I can use it wet or dry I find the set to diverse and versatile.
