Handmade All Natural Charcoal Mint Soap Bar, by Lauren Marie

As soon as I took the soap out of its wrapping my husband asked, “What’s that!?” He says the scent caught his attention right away, then he was intrigued by its color. When I told him it was handmade soap he offered to try it first; He is my test dummy when it comes to things like this as I have a sensitive skin that gets red right away. Since he is not a big mint fan he was able to right away point out that it was in the mix of the soap but it did not bothered him. We decided it was safe for me to give it a try; All I have to say is that it is very refreshing, it leaves the skin clean without any pesky oils. We think the softness the soap leaves behind is related to it being made with activated charcoal and coconut carbon. The soap also has some oatmeal flakes which has always been one of my favorites for soap because it helps alleviate various skin issues. Oatmeal is my go to when my skin feels itchy and irritated. This soap bar is not completely black, in fact less than half of the bar. The rest of the bar is moisturizing glycerin which is clear in color. The scent of the soap is strong, and a bit hard to explain. We would say it is a somewhat musky smell, very earthy with a hint of mint. The size of the bar is that of a regular bar. My husband is the one who uses it the most, he really likes the after feel of it because it does not feel oily. He uses it as a face wash. The soap is made in the USA. It is also made with natural ingredients; It is Vegan friendly, and non GMO.

Overall, it is a very intriguing soap due to the blend of the different scents. I use it but since my husband enjoys the scent of the soap, I try not to use it so it will last a little longer for him. One thing to be aware of is that it needs to be kept in a relatively dry space after its use or it will waste away very fast. After using it, and seeing my husband’s reaction, I believe this is a soap that males will enjoy better due to its scent.
