Music Note Silicone Pastry Mold by Mujaing

We do homeschooling for our toddler, and we are always searching for ways to help him use his creativity, and explore it. This pastry mold has been great for him to learn all the different things he could make out of his play clay. Before he would just make little balls, or flatten it out on the table but since we gave him this mold he was able to understand that he could do much more. This mold allows for the play clay (which has a similar consistency as fondant) to get the shape of the music notes easily. When we noticed the small cavity for “music” we were sure it would not work but we were proven wrong. Not only did it work, its details looked amazingly clear. This mold is thick; In my experience with melted chocolate and candy, it does not seem to be made for that kind of molding as its thickness does not give it the flexibility as a thin silicone mold would when popping out its contents. These musical notes are delicate, we frankly do not see chocolate being able to pop out of this without breaking. However, other pastry mediums that are pliable (like the clay) should have no big issues. As the photos will show, our four year old is an expert playing with the mold, which by the way, has allowed him to expand his play with the clay beyond just simple shapes. He knows understands he can form whatever he wishes out of it, and has began making clay people with better details after the mold’s results showed him it is possible.

Overall, while we are using this pastry mold for an alternative use, arts and crafts, it really does show that it would work with the cake decorating because of the viscosity of the material. This mold is made out of good quality silicone. Our son really likes that once the mold is on a flat surface it won’t move unless it is picked up, it will not slide around the table when he is playing with it. If your use the mold depends on the kitchen, this mold can withstand freezing temperatures (-40) and also heat (445) Fahrenheit. We have no complaints, it is one of our son’s go to molds when crafting because it always allows him to have perfect shapes from it. It is non stick, dishwasher safe, and BPA free.
